This was on passage from Barbuda down to Antigua. The depth is only hits about 30 metres (90ft) between the islands so the waves here can be really steep, as the Atlantic swell suddenly hits the shallow seabed. On this day it felt a bit like a rollercoaster! 🤢 Full sail in our latest Youtube video 🎬

A couple of months ago we met Tom and Lou off SV Noctiluca in Guadeloupe and they invited us onboard for dinner. Turns out Tom is a musician, I told him that I sing and next thing you know, he dug out his keyboard and we had a little music jam! 🎹🎤

Absolutely love moments like this when you meet other cruisers on the water, come together and get to play spontaneous music in the most random places!

This was back in Mallorca last Summer, we somehow stumbled upon one of the only empty anchorages on the island (or so it felt in the middle of high season)!

For some reason we never really take that many photos inside the boat, probably because it feels like that’s where we are when ‘nothing special is happening’. But in reality we spend a fair amount of time down below and it’s actually where some of our favourite mundane everyday moments happen.

But this is basically my view most days, looking across at Lars working away in between us sailing to other places and me squeezing some video editing in here and there sat on other side of the table.

It’s been a great little boat office, except for when it’s too hot and we need to jump in the water every 10 minutes to cool down 🥵

3 years ago this week we signed the contract and bought Navika! ⛵️

Can’t believe how fast these last 3 years have gone, and yet it feels we’ve spent a lifetime on the water already.

Buying Navika happened really fast for us. In July 2019, I turned to Lars one evening and said ‘I think we’re going to be on a boat by the end of the year’. Whilst we’d had the idea for a while, that was the moment we started taking it seriously and started our boat search. We only saw one other boat before Navika but immediately had the feeling she was the right one for us. 3 weeks after seeing her for the first time we recklessly signed the paperwork and became proud boat owners! 📝

Knowing what we know now, we’re still so pleased with the choice we made with the budget we had available at the time. We’ve sailed over 7000nm in the past 3 years and still so much to explore 🥳

This was a heavier sail than expected and we managed to chafe through the headsail reefing line (at night of course). 🙄

But Navika was solid as always and plowed her way through those waves. 🌊
